MY REVIEW
For me, biking is one of summer’s best activities. We used to bike quite a bit when our first was a baby. My husband would wear him in a baby carrier while we rode, which probably wasn’t the safest thing, but we really wanted to get out and bike together! Now that he’s older and bigger, we can use a bike trailer!
We got to try out the Schwinn Trailblazer, and it is fabulous. It’s easy to hook up and use and has
- 20” fast rolling alloy wheels with quick release design for easy storage
- Quickly converts to a stroller without using tools
- Lightweight aluminum frame design provides plenty of space for each child
- Universal coupler attaches quickly and easily to most bikes
- Zippered weather shield provides extra protection in poor weather
- 100 lbs total capacity; easily seats two
Hooking the trailer up to the bike is finished in less than 30 seconds, which is good because 2 year olds get very impatient when they know they’re about to go on a bike ride!
The bike trailer storage compartment is great for storing all sorts of stuff – groceries, bread for the neighbors, toys for the park, books to return to the library, etc.
A bicycle trailer can be very cost effective also because the whole family can bike somewhere rather than drive. We often ride to the library or the park, and if we didn’t have a bike trailer, we’d have to drive. Gas prices aren’t as high as they were last summer, but they’re on their way back up, and we’re starting to think of ways to use our cars less and save gas. A bike trailer is the perfect solution!
The mesh screen is great for keeping out bugs , and the zippered weather shield protects the little ones and cargo from unexpected showers (which are happening here in Utah pretty regularly this summer!). Folding it up when you’re finished is a quick job – the wheels have a quick release which makes the whole thing fit very nicely in the trunk.
And lastly, I love that it converts to a stroller without using tools. The Trailblazer is a great solution if you have 2 children because you can use it both as a double stroller and as a bike trailer. I can’t wait until our baby is big enough to ride in the bike trailer because then I’ll be able to get some good walking and biking in!
Biking is great exercise, and a bike trailer is a must have if you’ve got little ones to tow. We love the Schwinn Trailblazer!
