If you’re on the hunt for some Christmas gift ideas, look no further than Ravensburger games available at Target! These three games span an entire family’s worth of ages from Strike for kids as young as 3 or 4, to Rush Hour for the middle aged kids (8-12 at least), and Marvel Villainous for teenagers.

Check out my reviews for Strike and Villainous, and read all about Rush Hour right here!

Thinkfun is our favorite single-player game maker for logic games. They have lots of different options and all are great GAMESCHOOL games to help kids think logically, critically, analytically, and abstractly, all essential ways of thinking for math success!

Rush Hour is a favorite for kids 8+ (my 6 year old can do the beginner challenges with a little bit of help). The challenge deck includes 3 difficulty levels from beginner to expert and gives the initial traffic jam setup. The goal is to get the red car out of the traffic jam by moving the other cars around on the board forward and backward and NOT lifting any.

If you get stuck, dump it out and start over.

This game is an excellent way to practice persistence and creativity in problem solving. If your first attempt doesn’t work, try again! Keep trying until you figure it out. There’s nothing as satisfying as sticking to a problem until it’s solved, and a game is a great place to first experience the joy of difficult problem solving!

We liked to store this game in the little drawstring bag it comes with and keep it in the car to play whenever we have to wait or sit still for a while. It’s great for ball games or practices, concerts, doctors offices, any place that needs a little mind stimulation to get through.

Thanks to ThinkFun for sharing it with us!
