Logic games are really popular in our family. We have several single-player logic games, which we all love. We use them for math work and my kids enjoy playing them independently.
We do love single player logic games, but THIS logic game is extra special and awesome because it is a multi-player logic game, the one and only multi-player logic game in our collection!
Pelican Cove is a quick, challenging, and fun game for 1-5 players that requires quick thinking and problem solving.
The game is set up by putting 8 challenge cards on the game board that each indicate how the colored pelicans should be placed on each player’s Nesting Board.
The cards come in 5 levels of difficulty. The easiest level is made of cards indicating that pelicans can be placed anywhere on the Nesting Board. The cards get gradually more difficult as the placement requirements get more detailed. Some cards will require a pelican to be placed adjacent to, across from, or around the corner from another pelican. When each color has its own requirements, getting them all placed before the time runs out is very challenging!
Once the placement cards are placed on the board, the timer begins and all players race to get their pelicans in the right spots on the board.
The time crunch really creates some intensity for these young logicians!
After the time has run out, players evaluate their pelicans’ positions. Any pelican that violates its placement requirements earns the player a penalty token. The player with the fewest penalty tokens at the end of 6 round sis the winner!
