My son and I discovered by accident what wonderful shakers/ noise makers those little packages of scrapbooking embellishments make. The little metal pieces, especially brads and eyelets, make different noises depending on the size and shape, and little hands love to shake and make noise!
If you don’t want your child shaking your embellishments, take them out of the packaging and fill the little plastic container with something else like beans, rice, small rocks, nuts, popcorn, etc. Experiment with different things to see what different noises you can create. Fill them up and wrap tape around the whole thing several times to prevent any explosions.
We like to have fun with our shaking by doing some of the following things:
- shape shaking – circles, squares, triangles
- directional shaking – high, low, in front, in back, right hand, left hand
- crazy shaking – while turning in circles, with your teeth, walk across the room with the shaker on your head
There’s tons you can do with these little shakers, but the best part is making noise! Shake away!
