Goldfish Tails & Tales

The more time I spend with my children, the more fascinated I am by them. Children are such amazing creatures, so full of curiosity, energy, love, and joy. My children amaze me every day with the zest they have for even the most menial parts of life. They love it all and teach me in small ways how to be a happier person.IMG_5881 My children are never happier, sillier, or fun loving than at meal times. They LOVE to eat and talk and joke and laugh, it’s just who they are. It drives me crazy but it shouldn’t – they live perfectly in each moment and enjoy everything they do. IMG_5882 Nothing brings out the funny sillies in my boys like Goldfish® crackers. I know as a mom I’m supposed to discourage my kids from playing with their food but… when it comes to Goldfish crackers I just can’t do it. No matter where we are – at home, on the road, in the grocery store, at the park – our Goldfish crackers are the main character of whatever dramatic, creative tale my children are weaving as they snack. IMG_5887 So when I heard about The Goldfish Tales campaign launched in February of this year found on GoldfishSmiles.com, I loved it! Children just can’t enjoy Goldfish crackers without making their own Goldfish Tale and now there’s a fun place for parents all over to share their children’s special Goldfish moments, photos, and stories. IMG_5896 We’ve been having plenty of fun creating our own Goldfish Tales this week. Our Goldfish crackers have been well loved and since I gave my boys the go-ahead to “play with their food” they sure did. Gus made a fancy fish tank for his Goldfish crackers and Elliot created a wooden block village for his fish to enjoy. Plus, he wrote a special poem:

The Goldfish

A fish has fins to swim-im-im

So he swims down with his fin-in-in.

I love to eat Goldfish-ish-ish

With my fishy tooth-ooth-ooth.

(He has a front tooth starting to grow in that he calls his Fish Tooth. I don’t really get it, but it’s still adorable!)

You can create your own Goldfish Tale and share a photo or a story on GoldfishSmiles.com for a chance to win a case of Goldfish crackers each month or an amazing trip to any US location of the winner’s choice for a special opportunity to create more Goldfish tales! Entrants may submit one tale per day for multiple chances to win. If your family is like mine, you’ll have an endless supply of Goldfish Tales to choose from, so pick your favorites and start sharing!
