*FICKLE FISH* Card Game

I love finding games that preschool aged kids can play together or with slightly older siblings – anything that helps them be independent and play quietly while learning and having fun is the best possible thing in my life!

Fickle Fish is a fun card game that is perfect for early elementary and preschool aged kids. It’s an excellent addition to nature study, a unit about fish/ocean/water cycle, and is just really fun for kids to play.

Every player rolls the die on his turn and follows the action according to the roll:

  1. Catch a fish (choose any face down card)
  2. Give a card to another player
  3. Fish got away! (don’t collect a card)
  4. Choose one card from another player’s catch
  5. Fish got away!
  6. Catch a fish and roll again

Each card has a point value and some information about the fish on the card. My kids are getting pretty good at identifying fish, something they didn’t know much about before!

Cards change hands all through the game and whoever has the most points when the last fish is caught wins!

The cards are a nice large size, perfect for little hands, and the fish illustrations are eye-catching and colorful.

The back of the box has some interesting information on it too, I love when the box is part of the educational experience too.

We have LOVED all the Jr Rangerland games we’ve tried, they support our love of the great outdoors and are so fun to play!

Thanks to Jr Rangerland for sharing this game with us!
