The King and Queen invite YOU to celebrate The Bellfaire! The busy lives of the Everdellian Critters carry on, and this expansion tells another spellbinding story of a year-long celebration to commemorate the Everdell Founding’s 100th birthday!
This lovely expansion adds to the growing family of Everdell games. Read my reviews about the original Everdell base game and the Pearlbrook expansion.
Bellfaire’s celebratory elements include new modules and components – a flat board that can be used in place of the Ever Tree, new Special Events, endgame Garland Awards, special player abilities, and rules for adding an extra 1-2 players to the previous maximum of 4.
There are new ways to earn points, new ways to earn resources, beautiful player boards to build your city around and store your resources on, new critters (cardinals and toads), and more!
The basic game play is the same – players use workers each season to gain resources. Resources are exchanged for cards. Cards are played down in your city, where they give you extra resources, special abilities, or coins.
Once all players have played through all 4 seasons and have built cities of 15 total cards, the game is over. Points are tallied, and the Master of the Bellfaire Celebration is named!
All the Everdell games are amazing examples of cohesive art and storytelling. Everything about the rules, design, and theme of the game contributes to the magical world of Everdell and brings you in to its enchanting grasp.
