I enjoyed this one just as much as A Conspiracy of Paper. As likeable and charismatic as ever, Benjamin Weaver returns as the thief-taking gentleman.
I love how the author sets up the story – a much older Benjamin is retelling a single adventure from his younger days. The story goes forward and backward in time and has lots of unexpected twists and turns. Elias Gordon plays less of a part in this book, although he is present and important to the story. I missed spending time with Elias, but I suppose the plot necessitates the separation of the two friends.
The relationship between Benjamin and Miriam plays a part in this book again, so this book is well rounded and contains just enough of suspense, mystery, romance, and violence to satisfy any reader. Read it!!!
