Since it’s April and still snowing in Utah, we are still enjoying weekly visits to the warm and amazing Museum of Ancient Life at Thanksgiving Point. They’ve added some new displays in the Discovery Room, like all the gears, and I think some other things were different, although I can’t be sure because I might just be noticing more each time we go.
Elliott loved the gears. They were mesmerizing…And all the other buttons to push in the Discovery Room are just great for curious hands.
He stopped more this time to actually look at things, which is the advantage to having the annual pass. We can go every week and he can remember things we’ve seen there and take more time explore a single display.
We found something new this last time too! There’s a great little play corner in the middle of the museum with a giant floor mat with dinosaur habitat scenes and plastic/rubber toy dinosaurs of all sizes. There’s also a big puzzle on the wall that both my boys loved. This was a great little break for Gus to get out of the stroller and crawl around and explore without getting into trouble. We’ll definitely be making stops here more often.
Touching things…
And pondering.
I think it will be interesting to see how Elliot’s exploration of the dinosaur museum changes over the next year. We love it!
