I’ve been a little MIA, but I haven’t been doing nothing! I had no idea how much work moving would be and we’re no where near finished yet. But we can park both cars in the garage and there are fewer than…20? boxes unpacked in the house (not counting the basement…).
The office has been our first priority so in a few days I’ll be ready to work in a perfectly organized office but we still won’t know where our shoes are.
I know my priorities.
Before we moved, when we were waiting and waiting to move and had no idea when it would happen, I put all that nervous energy into quilting my Jack’s Blocks quilt. It definitely helped take my mind off the impending move and I got to watch a lot of Friday Night Lights without feeling like I was wasting time.
Love that show. Kind of embarrassed to admit it.
I got a new machine for Christmas and I don’t have an extension table or a walking foot for my new machine, but the quilting design I did on this quilt really doesn’t need either of those things. I didn’t know if it would work, but it turned out so great.
I saw this on Camille Roskelley’s blog, she did it on one of her quilts, and it was the most perfect easy, cute, fast way to quilt a twin sized quilt.
On my Bernina I used Stitch #4 (zigzag), stitch width 5, stitch length 2.5 and stitched the rows about 3/4″ apart.
It’s a really nice squiggly design that is perfect for this little boy dinosaur quilt.
For the back I decided to do something a little more interesting, kind of a block ombre sort of thing. I love how it turned out.
When I finally get it bound, it’s going to be my first favorite. I think…
