MY REVIEW

If you read my post about our new baby, you know I was having some trouble with my milk supply at first. The one thing that saved me was this breastpump. In the first week, I used this pump 5-6 times a day to encourage my milk to come in, and in the second week I used it almost as frequently to try to increase my milk supply, and it worked! I’m happy to say that after 1 month, my milk is doing fine, and I have the Swing to thank for it!

Medela pumps have a two-phase expression mechanism designed for faster let-down and flow, which means you get more milk in less time. I got the manual Harmony pump for my first baby, and it also had this feature. With the Swing, it’s even better because it’s electric! It also has adjustable vacuum and speed to be as comfortable for each individual mother as possible.

The Swing is compact and lightweight, so it’s easy to carry with you in your diaper bag, use on the go with batteries or at home with the AC adapter. Here’s what comes in the box:

Like all Medela pumps, all the little parts on the Swing pump come apart for easy cleaning. You can take it apart, throw everything in the dishwasher, and know your pump is clean and sanitary.

An electric pump is one of those necessities if you’re planning on breastfeeding. Manual ones are okay, but electric is so much nicer and easier to use! It only takes one hand, so you can still hold your baby, read a book, or work the TV remote while you’re pumping. I have been thrilled with the Swing – it works great and is affordable.
